As a part of the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (WADRC), our mission is to advance the detection of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) through access to, and analysis of, biofluids. Through our fee-for-service lab, we offer these resources to other researchers who are studying ADRD or other diseases. Under the guidance of Dr. Sterling Johnson and Dr. Henrik Zetterberg, we serve as a resource on preanalytic protocol development, sample handling, and biomarker assay analysis. While providing our services, we constantly strive to honor participants’ contributions.

What We Do

We are a fluid-based biomarker lab with a focus on detecting biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias.

  • We have several fully automated platforms for performing ELISA-based measurements in blood, CSF, and other biofluids.
  • We also have a fully equipped wet lab which provides other sample analysis opportunities.
  • If there is something not listed here, or you have questions about our services, please reach out. We are happy to help.

About the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (WADRC)

The Wisconsin ADRC is focused on improving early detection of Alzheimer’s disease, identifying risk and protective factors, and finding ways to delay onset and progression. Through funding by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Wisconsin ADRC supports researchers in their pursuit of answers that will lead to improved diagnosis and care for patients while, at the same time, focusing on the program’s long-term goal — finding a way to prevent and treat Alzheimer’s disease.
